Talking to the media at another award ceremony where he was named as L’Equipe’s “Champion of Champions for 2008″, Usain Bolt promises more records to tumble.
His coach predicts he can run a sub-19 seconds for the 200m and Bolt himself is gunning for the 400m world record. If he does achieve such feat, he the first person ever to hold three world records in the 100m, 200m and 400m.
What can’t this man do …
Usain Bolt
“I feel more nervous on the blocks at the start of a 200 metres because I expect a lot of myself and others expect a lot of me as well. That’s my thing. I know that a lot of people will find that strange and that most sprinters prefer the 100 metres, but not me. My coach has told me that I have another two years of progress in front of me and that I have room for improvement. He thinks I can run 200 metres in under 19 seconds and I have every confidence in him. As for 400m record, when I was at school, I ran 45.35 secs – that’s not bad. Although the intensive training you need for the 400 metres worries me.”
