The Jamaican who holds the 100m, 200m and 4×100m world record, can add another to the list. The triple Olympic champion eclipsed the old record of 14.80s HT set by Italian Pietro Mennea in 1983, and also Donovan Bailey’s 14.99s ET in the rarely run 150m, to a new mark of 14.35s. Before the race, there were doubts if the 22 year old Bolt is back to his running form best, as the car crash last month in Jamaica required foot surgery. Well Usain showed no signs of struggling in the race as he ran down his other competitors in the windy and soggy Manchester street. His last 100m was recorded at 8.72 seconds by the way.
The Jamaican next meet will be at Canada’s Toronto Festival of Excellence track meet June 11th. The Race
