 Rene Herms was a German six-time 800m runner champion and his career highlight was a semifinal appearance at the 2004 Athens Olympics. The 26 year old sadly however was found dead last Saturday in his apartment. The local chief prosecutor has ordered an autopsy despite his widow, Steffi, refusal. The autopsy is going ahead as the widow permission was not required. Although the police suspect no signs of foul play by the police, the authorities wants to determine the cause of his death.
