Since her amazing rapid recovery from injury for her bid; and some say a-bit-too-rush, in participating in the recent Beijing Olympics Marathon, which she eventually finished 23rd, Paula Radcliffe is now testing her marathon training progress She will take part in her first ever professional ten mile race at the BUPA Great South Run in Portsmouth, England. The event is to be flagged off on the October 26th Paula had run a ten mile race before as a teenager and is said to finish just under the hour mark. This time round she will face a a quality field and fast course record that is held by Irishwoman Sonia O’Sullivan of 51:00 set in 2002 Paula Radcliffe has the potential to surpass the record as she held one of the fastest ten mile times ever recorded by a woman during her half-marathon competition in 2002 where she was split at an unofficial 50:01 This will be a great run-up to her New York City Marathon event where she is scheduled to defend her title on November 2nd
