Respected Hammer Throwing Coach Pal Nemeth Passed Away at 71

Pal Nemeth is the Hungarian national team hammer throwing coach and he passed away on Friday at the age of 71 years old from heart failure.

Following in the footsteps of his father, Laszlo Nemeth, also a trainer, Pal Nemeth rose through the ranks of coaching and was even the former Director of the IAAF’s Accredited Training Centre in Szombathely, Hungary.

He has coached top elite hammer throwers such as 1998 European champion Tibor Gécsek to Krisztian Pars, recent Beijing Games silver medalist.

Pal Nemeth is succeeded by his son Zsolt, who whom himself is the 1999 World Championships silver medalist and World University Games champion.
