Nobuharu Asahara from Team Osaka Gas was part of the 4x100m quartet that won bronze at the last Beijing Olympics. It was the first Olympic medal for Japan in 80 years in track races. Some might say it was just their day when the favorites got ‘tangled’ up with baton issues and disqualification but the bottomline, the medal is theirs for keeps The 36 year old who was a former jumper turned sprinter will run his last race before retirement at the Seiko Super Track and Field Meet in Kawasaki.
