Maurice Green to Justin Gatlin
Justin Gatlin impending return and expiration of his four year drug ban has hit the athletics headline recently, and it seems the former World record holder Maurice Greene has given his fair share of opinion on the return of the pariah.
Greene was quoted, “What’s the point? You can’t beat the big three (Usain, Gay and Powell). That’s just what I believe. He’s been out for way too long. Four years is a long time not to compete, he has a tremendous mountain up against him and the times that these guys are running now, he wasn’t running these times when he was there and he hasn’t been competing.”
Justin Gatlin suspension ends in July 2010.
Why are they asking Maurice Green? Talk about someone who’s career is OVER. Green would be LUCKY to run a 10.60 in 100m right now. Did you see how slow his feet were during Dancing With The Stars? Why don’t they tell Green to fade off into the sunset? His comments reflect his state of competition, not Gatlin’s. Maybe Green could compete in the old guy “Masters” meets. Gatlin’s training is what would make him able to compete, not whether or not he has competed.
Gatlin was good but not sure he will run sub 9.8 without STEROIDS. With steroids/drugs he ran 9.77…
Gay ran 9.69 without steroids…in other words Gay ran sub 9.7 naturally..
no need to mention Usain time. Gatlin needs to increase Gatlin time…
