Marta Domínguez Azpeleta, a Spanish runner and current women 3000m steeplechase world champion has been suspended from her vice president of the Spanish athletics federation (RFEA) post.
This after sha has been accused of being involved in drug dealings. In December 2010, Dominguez, together with 13 other people including her coach, was arrested during a sting operation by a major criminal investigation into sports doping.
Her home was raided and several items were taken including her laptop, a briefcase and a box. Dominguez was released on bail on 10 December 2010 on charges of trafficking and distribution of doping substances after more than six hours of questioning in Palencia.
In a series of simultaneous raids across five provinces on 9 December 2010, Spanish police seized a large quantity of anabolic steroids, hormones and EPO, as well as laboratory equipment for blood transfusions.
