After being barred from running at the Beijing Olympics games and recalled back, the Greek sprinter Katerina Thanou has decided to file a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the International Olympic Committee. Her legal action also in particular seek claims from IOC president Jacques Rogge and Greek IOC member Lambis Nikolau. Katerina case is that she was unfairly given the boot as IOC using the rule 45.2 of the Olympic Charter, where it assess the situation and concluded the Greek sprinter although not found using any drugs, but she brought the Olympic movement into disrepute for her previous role during the Athens 2004 games where she missed the drug test. She has a strong case in point as her 2004 case was a confidential agreement between IAAF and Court of Arbitration for Sport which ended in 2006 with her surrendering of her Olympic Accreditation. She stated the closed-door conversations and agreement for 2004 scandal, was used against her during Beijing and is seeking compensatory damages as the threats were in breach of the Hellenic Criminal Code for any Greek citizen on home soil.
