Justin Gatlin set to return this July

Justin Gatlin is still professing his innocence still.

Currently serving a four-year ban from track and field for testing positive for a banned substance in 2006 over the BALCO scandal, the ban ends on July 25th, and the former Olympic and World Champion has been speaking to the media on his impending return.

Gatlin was quoted, “I believe if I come out and run fast times that would rival a Bolt, then people will want to see me. It makes me excited to start all over again. I’ve gone from the bottom to the top back to the bottom. Now I’m climbing back to the top. I’ve always maintained that I’ve never taken performance enhancing drugs and I’ll always stand by that. I’m responsible for not being aware of who I was around and their background and not researching them more.”

We all know there’s big money to be earned in Europe if you’re fast, hungry and famous. It is reported Justin Gatlin ban so far has cost him some $5 million dollar.

But his return might prove to be a problem, as with British sprinter Dwain Chambers, such alleged or reformed athletes abuser of banned substance are usually struck off the invite list on the lucrative European athletics circuit.

Well time will tell if Justin Gatlin is the real deal.
