It gave an opportunity for the little known Russian jumper to clinch the competition with a height of 2.01m (6’7) The 22 year old saw personal best at every competition she participated. She heighted at 1.95m last year for the indoors season, and progressed to 1.98m at international high jump meet in Hustopece, Czech Republic recently. The latest Cottbus meet saw her improving to 1.99m in her earlier attempt before ending the night with a 2.01m effort. She is now ranked second behind World indoor and outdoor champion Blanka Vlasic of Croatia who leads with a 2.03m height in the women’s high jump rankings.
