The 10-kilometre Great Manchester Run on Sunday, May 17, was won by Ethiopia’s Haile Gebrselassie. The 36 year old missed out breaking the 27:21 course record by Kenya’s Micah Kogo in 2007, when he finished in 27:39. Gebrselassie intent to reclaim his world 10-kilometre road mark, which is currently being held by Kogo, when he ran 27:01 last March. But strong winds blew Gebrselassie record attempt off course.
