Gerd Kanter Wants The Men’s Discus Record
  • September 20th, 2008

We as recently watched Estonian Gerd Kanter getting into the history book by winning major events such as Beijing Olympics (68.82m) and World Championship (68.38m) and dominating the men’s discus event these past few years

Now Gerd Kanter wants more. He want the record which has stood since 1986 which stands at 74.08m. He was recently quoted at a conference, “a lot of things have to fall into place, but if I can prepare properly the record is possible”

Oh yes Gerd Kanter has the pedigree for such feat as he has progressing well with his throw distances these few years. His 73.38m effort on September 4 2006 was the third best in history and since then have thrown more than 70 metres four times (72.30, 73.38, 70.43, 70.51)

I wouldn’t be surprised one day in the future reading the men’s discus record tumbling down by a certain Gerd Kanter. As we all know, records are meant to be broken eh
