Oh he’s definitely a drug cheat, where Dwain Chambers urine sample was tested positive for steroid THG back in October 2003. After being caught he was banned two years by UK Athletics and a lifetime Olympic ban, plus all his racing records since 2002 swiped clean. But Dwain Chambers however is still the fastest man in the UK, as he demonstrated that last year when he tried to qualify for the Olympics. Oh he did clocked 10.00 seconds winning the Olympic 100m trial, and easily qualifying the 10.21 seconds Olympic ‘A’ Standard. Although winning the trial and qualifying on timing merit, he still couldn’t overturn his lifetime Olympic ban in court. And now he is set to be recalled to the UK 4x100m relays team, donning English colors. After a botched relay performances the past 18 months with a baton passing exchange horror at the Beijing Olympics as the highlight, UK Athletics’ head coach for relays and sprints, Michael Khmel, has made known he wants Chambers back. Even the newly appointed UK Athletics ‘boss’, Charles van Commenee backs Michael Khmel recommendation. Although welcomed by the UK Athletics, the drug tainted Chambers is still condemned by his peers and public opinion on him is still split. The 30 year old currently is limited competing to smaller local races currently as he has a Europe-wide ban by the leading meet promoters.
