Christophe Lemaitre, the first sub-10s 100m white sprinter
  • July 10th, 2010

So many previous non-black sprinters has come close to breaking the sub-10 seconds in the 100m, from the Asian Nobuharu Asahara’s 10.02s, to Chilean Sebasti├ín Keitel 10.10s, and now Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre has finally done it.

Lemaitre has become the first white person to run 100 metres in under 10 seconds.

The 20-year-old ran 9.98 seconds with a +1.3 tailwind at a meet in Valence, France yesterday. Scrawny little runner isn’t he, but absolute fast.
