So many previous non-black sprinters has come close to breaking the sub-10 seconds in the 100m, from the Asian Nobuharu Asahara’s 10.02s, to Chilean Sebastián Keitel 10.10s, and now Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre has finally done it. Lemaitre has become the first white person to run 100 metres in under 10 seconds. The 20-year-old ran 9.98 seconds with a +1.3 tailwind at a meet in Valence, France yesterday. Scrawny little runner isn’t he, but absolute fast. |
