Caster Semenya’s first comeback race
  • July 17th, 2010

Caster Semenya has won her first comeback race at a low-key Lappeenranta Games in Finland.

It was the 19-year-old first race to run as a female, since being cleared by IAAF over her gender speculation and controversy.

The South African won the 800 meters event in a modest time of 2 minutes, 4.22 seconds last Thursday.

It was a far cry from her 1:55.45 winning time back at the World Championships in Berlin held last year.

Semenya is preparing for the upcoming October’s Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India. He next comeback race would be the Lapinlahti Games tomorrow Sunday.
