Deresse Mekonnen wins the Mile in 3:48.95 at the Bislett Games 2009

Eithophian Deresse Mekonnen ran a brave one miler in Oslo as he won the event in a time of 3:48.95.

The mile is however not part of the Golden League jackpot of events, and it is held as Oslo has a long standing tradition of producing mile performances at this venue.

It was a new national record and Deresse became the first Ethiopian to win the Dream Mile.
