Andreas Thorkildsen 83.87m junior WR in 2006

It seems Andreas Thorkildsen has been busy attending award ceremonies.

Norwegian sports has just awarded javelin thrower Andreas Thorkildsen as “Performer of the Year”.

He also received another award by the national daily Aftenposten as “Performance of the Year”.

And there’s more. Thorkildsen was also 2008 “Waterford Crystal European Male Athlete of the Year”.

The 26 year old had an impressive year with gold at Beijing Olympics in which he set a new Olympic record of 90.57 metres.

He also won the Golden League event at Bislett in Oslo, 2008 IAAF Golden League in Zürich and dominated the year in his field.
