We all love stories that inspires right. Call it chicken soup for the soul here’s one I found while surfing around YouTube

Well the story is a few years old; despite that it’s a good one. Well it revolves around the Athen Olympics 2004 where Iraqi 100m women sprinter Alaa Jassim was given a wildcard entry to participate in the Olympics

A wildcard entry is given to nations for athletes who didn’t managed to match the Olympics qualification mark. It is an effort by IOC to expand global participation at the Olympics

Athens was a sobering experience for Alaa Jassim, quite a contrast to Iraq which is a war-ravaged nation. Despite her game debut only lasted just under 13 seconds, she defied expectations and without much support showed true grit and determination

Well watch the video as it tells of her training environment and condition, which was horrible. Compared to Singapore, we’re in paradise
