Although today’s entry is not athletics related, to a certain extend, I’ve an obligation to post this as it seems the head of a sports marketing agency has been mouthing off local online portal such as Red Sports and VoxSports.
Ian Mullane, CEO of Vanda Sports Group, whose company has signed a one-year deal with the FAS to market the Young Lions, was quoted on this Twitter account, tweeting that Red Sports & VoxSports S-League press coverage as “a joke”.
What Mr. Mullane fails to understand is that the two online sports portal, which is similar to this website, are operating with no full-time staff, and is only fueled by passion of the volunteers.
And the only income generated by the website itself, if there’s even any, goes back to the exorbitant web hosting. If given the resources commissioned by FAS to Vanda Sports Group, I’m pretty sure our press coverage will be even more complete.
Maybe the dude is trying to pull a fast-one eh. Dissing out and slamming the very sports portal that came before them, to get responses, getting the local supporters riled up and such.
I don’t want to speculate, and I’m pretty sure the drama will unravel itself in the coming weeks.
Update: I was told Vanda Sports Group is promoting the Young Lions on a pro-bono basis.
