Mere mention of Orchard Road, and you’ll instantly think of retail, entertainment hub, and a vibrant vicinity frequented by large crowds

Well this coming June 15th, Sunday … this famous shopping belt will host the Anlene Orchard Mile 2008

Two lanes of the Orchard Road will be closed and instead of tourists and the usual crowds, you’ll get to see runners whizzing by you

A sporting event only for women (sorry guys) where participants walk or run the 1.6km stretch of road (Begins near Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station and ending near Orchard MRT station)

Last year saw 2,000 female participants taking part, and for this year some 5,000 women are expected to join this event

It’s all for a good cause, as proceeds from this run will go to the Osteoporosis Society of Singapore
