In this interview, we talk to Yusof Alias. A power 100m and 200m who has represented Singapore at the highest level. Even at the twilight of his running career, he’s still as fast as ever

- How did you get started with Track & Field
Yusof: I started out during my secondary days. I first represented Singapore at Junior level at 1989 Asian Junior plus on the same year i went for SEA Games 1989
- What motivates you to train
Yusof: My prison department PSRC provide me the time-off and opportunity to train again so i took the chance to make a comeback. So with such support, it motivates me to train again
- What’s your training program like?
Yusof: I train Monday to Friday 1 times daily
- Goal for this year?
Yusof: I hope to be selected for SEA Games. I’m aiming for an individual event plus a spot in the 4×100m relays
- Advise for young athletes?
Yusof: Train hard, learn from experienced people. Learn from mistakes and be yourself

I was told Yusof Alias will be leaving with several athletes such as Hamkah Afik for a training trip in Germany
